“Not a stranger at all. Gone? Like dead or disbanded? X-People? Oh! I lead them? Wow… that’s actually… wow.”
"Uhh…probably not what you wanna hear but, the X-Men died. They sacrificed themselves to save the planet. They succeeded, obviously, but…yeah. You do a lot to help the mutants in my timeline, it’s pretty great.”
Rebekah gasped softly, backtracking so quickly that she nearly fell over her own two feet. It wasn’t that she was frightened, just more shocked than anything else. People didn’t hang from the ceiling every day.
❝ May it is then. I’ve never liked spiders, and it would do you good to warn me next time you decide to do acrobatics like that. What the hell are you, some sort of demon? ❞
❝ Ummm, no. It’s kinda hard to explain. I’m not a mutant–you know what that is, right?–but I’m not strictly human, either. I inherited spider powers from…do you know who Spider-Man is? ❞
“Yeah, again. Wait—no. No, gotta be logical here. You look like me, but are you me—”
"I’ve seen so many different timeline versions of the same people lately that I can’t really discount anything at this point. We’ve got a serious 'Mayday, Mayday’ situation going on here–Quick, what’s my baby brother's name? Wait–no, that’s too easy. What’s our favorite pair of socks?”
“Yeah, we really are. Like I could set my watch to how often we deal with it these days. Which is way too often. Well, I met my futureself twice, two different futures too. So I know how that goes.”
"Wow, so you're really no stranger to it. That's nuts! In my timeline, the X-Men are…um…gone, but there’s a new team now, called the X-People? You lead them. I’ve met you a couple times and I’m good friends with one of your team members.”
